Ok so let me first say, I never respond to these questions but after seeing that your doctor wants you continue with a medication that continues to burn, hurt, and make you sick, I felt compelled to write. No, stop now and get a second opinion!!
I have also suffered through possibly the same as you. It 3 doctors to finally get results. In my case, after being misdiagnosed twice and the time (2 months) it took I had a yeast infection to the likes no one had seen. ( it did not present like any normal yeast infection. I had no discharge at all, just an unbearable burning). Then it took two more doctor and three prescriptions to finally make it go away! Go see another doctor!!
When the doc had me use that i also had burning. I then had severe cramping and doc took me off of it. I also found that anything i put in vaginally seemed to trigger yeast a bacterial infections. I would call the doc if the burning is causing you to feel sick.
I did call the doctor, he stated I have to finish the terms of the Rx but I don't know if I can go another two weeks with this burning, it's pretty severe. He already tested me for infection and it came back negative.
Srrepka2207,
well I know my doc tried to discourage me from quitting too but i insisted we use oral premarin... and when i had the cramping she relented. i have been on the oral for a year with now issues. what is the reason you are on vaginal premarin?
He prescribed it for the burning, said I was very dry but I'm also a dialysis patient and wonder if that isn't drying me out as well. Seems like my doctor isn't going to do anything until the next two weeks is up.
ah i see. well this is everything i take and have no idea how it would affect dialysis... premarin and duavee for the vaginal problems and levothyroxine (for my hypothyroid). well the premarin alone wasn't enough but better (the vaginal way just irritated everything so glad i take oral now) so they added duavee which did help but it took a good 3 months to feel any different. but still not quite there. doc told me to use olive oil as a moisturiser but that didn't help. so i searched and found aloecadabra (it has no glycerin in it and is water based). Adding it has made a difference. No more itching or burning. I use it almost everyday and not much. do some research on it and see if it something that you can use not sure if you should. also when burning was too much for me i did put an icepack down there, it did help. question when you say you are feeling sick do you mean physically sick? if so that is a side effect from the premarin and the doc needs to know.
I believe it may be the dialysis that is drying me out. I will check on the aloe product you mentioned. The burning is what is making me sick, the pain of it. Thanks for your help.
I started Premarin vaginal cream for painful sex I’m 66 and now am having redness and itching so got treated for yeast infection but every time I use the Premarin cream I start itching? So frustrated
