I started Lexapro 10 mg for depression. It's been 4 weeks and I feel like I still have no motivation, a little bit of nauseousness which is OK. I can handle it and I have to take a nap during the day but I'm hoping that fade away in time. Should I keep taking this or stop because I really can't move from the couch?

Hello Smooches,
I agree with Wildcat, it could take up to 6-8 weeks to see a benefit. They also might need to raise your dose as Lexapro maxes at 20mg. Please consult with your prescriber and let them know what is going on. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
Hi, Smooches!
Depending on your individual response to the medication it can take 4-8 weeks to feel the full benefit of the drug, but you should be seeing some improvements by now. Also, side effects generally resolve within just a couple of weeks.
Have you talked to your doctor about this? It may be that you need to give it a little bit more time but it's best to get some professional advice from someone who knows you and your history.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better very soon.
