Hi, Knott!
This happens very frequently and we refer to it as the "roller coaster" effect... you feel better and then wham! you feel worse again. This will settled down as your metabolism adjusts better to the medication.
Don't think you're going backwards... the fact that you're having better days just shows that the drug is beginning to work.
Give it a few more days or so and you should be feeling better overall.
Best regards and stay positive!
Thank you been on every other antidepressant. So very worried this may fail a well. Is lexapro better than the other antidepressant. Thank you xx

Also my doctor said I can't try anymore antidepressants. Really scared. Xx
Why???
I meant I wonder why your doctor said that?
Hi, I'm taking the same thing, he's right you will feel better and calm. It do feel scary when the roller coaster comes, but it will subside, hang in there.
She antidepressants don't work for me. Xxx
Since I now can't take antidepressants because I began having manic/depressive episodes and the AD's throw me into mania my psychiatrist started me on a medication called buspirone (BuSpar) which isn't an antidepressant or a benzodiazepine. It's an older medication but it's prescribed specifically for anxiety. I've been on it now for several years and it works very well for me.
It might be worth asking about?
My Doctor won't. Prescribe buspar. Xxx
I never said this but... might you need a new doctor? Pretty much all that's left then is the benzodiazepines with their risk of addiction and long term side effects. Even they shouldn't be used for more than 6 weeks and many doctors won't prescribe them anyway.
Best of luck with the Lexapro and remember to focus on improvements rather the negatives which are temporary. You aren't alone in this... many people have been where you're at and have gotten better.
Thanks so much. Xx
