Does escitalopram 10mg make you feel worse than first few days?

I have N appointment withy doctors on Monday, I will be on day 7 of the tablets then. I'm really hoping I will be much better as I'm having to take 2 xanax a day to get through work and being a mum to a toddler and 12yr old so I've had to take them. I keep telling myself keep going it will get better but some parts of the day I'm really struggling with that optimism. I'm exhausted in bed every night at 8. It's good to resd the threads here though and your reply its giving me some hope.

Yes, unfortunately some people do experience side effects that generally subside after just days to a week or so and new or increased anxiety can be one of them.
Ultimately, the escitalopram will alleviate your anxiety symptoms if you can get through this initial period. You should probably explain to your doctor the severity of your situation and get an okay to continue to use a low dose benzodiazepine just for the next few days until you get stabilized on this medication.
The good news is that most people will begin to see overall improvements in the first two weeks.
