VeeMM,
Your question got cut off somehow. What side effects are you having?
Oh didn’t notice it got cut off. I’ve been getting intrusive thoughts.. shaking and burning sensation in my body and head
Racing thoughts, abnormal thinking, jitteriness, and the burning sensation is probably something called paresthesia which is a burning. itching. or prickly sensation.
These are common side effects and should subside within days to a week or so.
You're not alone and what you're feeling isn't unusual or dangerous... just something we have to put up with for a short while.
Many people begin to feel improvements in the first week or two so be on the lookout and try not to worry too much about the side effects.
Thank you for your comment! I took myself to the hospital because I felt safe being there because of the burning hands sensation and the intrusive thoughts.. doc told me it was normal and gave me Ativan to control some the side effects
Ativan is a mild sedative and should be able to calm down these feelings you're having. It may even help you sleep better.
Take care!
Thank you! Looking forward to it, it’s hard and I want to cry and scream because of the symptoms but not giving up! Barely getting out of my first week!
It'll get easier and easier... really! Hang in there because escitalopram is a good choice for what ails ya. I took it for over seven years and was very happy with how well it worked for me.
I had paresthesia burning in both of my upper/lower arms, it was real bad for a day and I was at work while experiencing. It cont'd off and on for a few days but not as bad as that one day. I was 1.5 weeks in when it happened. I now have upper back tension on and off as well, that is still going on. I am only on 2.5mg and do not want to increase my dosage.
