The cause of your swelling is the Sodium in the Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate). You can solve indigestion with one (1) table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of water. No need for Baking Soda. All the literature online suggests that epsom salt reduces swelling. I have not tried it, but I will try because I have challenges with swelling legs. I have been using COMPRESSION stockings, NOT support stockings, elevating the legs while sleeping, natural diuretics like dandelion root and watermelon and reduced salt intake, all help me. I hope this info helps you, even tho it is much later.
Epsome salt helps swelling not cause it, wear good support hose every day this will help the swelling of feet and legs. get checked out with your Doctor should it not get better.
Soaking shouldn't cause swelling. It sounds like you need to see your dr. In the meanwhile get yourself a good pair of support hose. It will keep down the swelling. Have you been eating things with a lot of salt in them. Pizza subs stuff from fast food. Even prepared frozen foods are high in salt. Lunchmeats are very high in salt.
