Hello everyone. I just started with Epclusa; (Hep C/2B genotype and history of Hep B and A, approx 2003) and I drink A LOT of water and exercise 4-6 times per week. My question is: Anyone else experience terrible smell/scent of sweat? My body odor is aweful.

That same Odor you are talking about started for me two weeks before taking epclusa right after my ultrasound. I’m pretty sure it’s from the hep c and liver not functioning properly. Three weeks in it went away for about three days and came back. Hopefully it will go away again for good
Yes!!! It’s the strangest thing! It’s a very pungent almost rancid oniony chemical smell.. hard to describe. I’ve been researching all day searching for other people that are having negative side effects with epclusa as well. And this is one I wasn’t expecting to find! But is definitely on the long list of horrible side effects for me. Suffice to say I’ve now not taken it for 2 days.
Hoping to feel better soon
You are not alone in noticing this side effect. I'm approaching month 2 of the 90 day Epclusa regimen and noticed a distinct increase in the regularity and pungency of my sweat over the last 2 weeks. I'm a very hygienic individual with a relatively static diet and daily regimen, the Epclusa is the only recent deviation from normalcy that can account for the smell. 60 more days or so, let's hope the girlfriend sticks around!
Are you not concerned about the reactivation of HBV with Epclusa? It is not just a possibility; it can recur or get worse. Their is no reason to smell awful if you practise good hygiene and I would be concerned about Liver metabolites giving a bad smell as with, for example alcohol or amphetamines or just plain poor liver function.
Kinda thinking I should be offended? I will proceed with this statement: I am a married woman, that works fulltime in addition to having 7 chidlren. I bathe regularly.
The scent of my body is toxic, not disimilar to alcohol or other illicit substances. But, l not the case. I wouldn't waste the time or the expense of this medication if I were seeing or using drugs.
Was just hoping I was not alone.
Maybe it is the medication causing a strange reaction. I spent my treatment time mostly as a recluse and then slept most of that time. People may have just been too polite to say anything to me. Sadly, you do not have the luxury of hiding, like I did, but at least these days the treatment regime is short compared to the old interferon days.
I'm sorry to have caused offense, I can guarantee that was not my intention.
It sounded sort of rude to me ,too, the way you suggested she wasn't hygienic. But,you apologized,I believe you didn't mean to be offensive. I also am very clean and older where prior to Epclusa never needed deodorant anymore due to age and lack of perspiration. But, suddenly 3 weeks into Epclusa treatment noticed slight sweat with normal slight odor. I think it's likely due to as you suggest the drug Epclusa triggering the waste from the body in sweat, muscle tissue etc.
