Doctor’s advise not to get fake nails, manicures and pedicures because you can get cut and blood and get bruised. Not worth the risk.
The problem with massages are if you get a massage and don’t know you have a new clot forming the pressure from the massage it can break off and end up in the lungs!
This is exactly what happened to me.
I am on eliquis for 4 years and I have had massages and pedi's with never a problem. I never ask a doctor before hand, but maybe you would feel better if you ask your doctor. Take care and wishing you the best. Stay safe
Thank you for giving me the courage to try a massage and a pedicure. Both went without a hitch. I did stick to light pressure for both. No bruising or bleeding or other complications. I did ask my provider but all I got back is "you have to be careful". Not very helpful but perhaps other providers may have better insight. For me, they appear to be safe.
