... help give me an added boost without taking more Effexor. I just wanted to hear from others who have had experience with taking Effexor and Abilify at the same time. I'm looking to hear from people with good/bad experiences. Thank you in advance
Effexor XR - I am currently taking 150mg of Effexor a day. My doctor has decided to add Abilify to?

Hi, JHood!
Success story! I’ve been taking Effexor (venlafaxine) for almost 10 years and added Abilify (aripiprazole) about 5 years ago. The Abilify was a game changer!
I’m living happy, healthy, and “normal”.
Regards and good luck to you too.
What dosage are you taking? My doctor started me out on 2mg but I got the jitters too bad. She cut me back to 1mg and the jitters stopped but I didn't find any improvement mood-wise. Did you have any side effects?
I'm currently taking 20mg/day. I don't remember my starting dose back then but it was 10mg I believe. I have severe depressive Bipolar symptoms so the Abilify (aripiprazole) is somewhat of a stimulant for me as it is for many people. It elevates my mood and energy level... which might make me "jittery" if I weren't so depressed.
How long had you taken it? Generally, side effects often resolve over a couple of weeks after starting the medication. In my case, it's this side effect that has me continuing to take it.
If you have other questions feel free to post again.

I've been taking Abilify since October 10, 2024. I've been on the 1mg for 4 weeks now. The doctor wants to take me off Abilify and put me on Quetiapine and I'm worried about the drowsiness so I'm still on Abilify.
