I took take Effexor XR (75mgs), and I did try to up the dosage to 150mgs and after about a month I started getting hot flashes, and sweating really bad, so my doc took me back down to the 75 mgs, and added 1 mg of Klonopin, and I'm doing much better, no more sweating or getting hot.
The same thing happened to me. I had to go from 75 to 150. It took a few weeks before it started to help. I do agree with Laurie though u may have to just switch to something new. I was on lexapro for about 5 years and then it stopped working, that's when I switched to the effexor. Good luck. Hopefully it will help

yes, it may well help. Or you may have to switch to a new antidepressant. I find that I have to switch every 5 or so years but that is just me. Your doctor is the best judge of this. It will take several weeks to feel the full effect of upping the dose.
Keep in touch,
Laurie
