Tried different meds for depression and anxiety and I guess I'm bipolar not sure my psyc doctorr just wants to mainly treat my symptoms without putting a name to it. She recently put me on Effexor XRr starting at 37.5 I'm also taking gabapentin and Seroquel only at night 100 mg and Xanax twice a day that's recent as well due to trying everything under the sun to control anxiety. I'm had been getting some relief from anxiety with Xanax gabapentin helps the mood swings somewhat and Seroquel helps me sleep but some days I would wake up and the first couple of hours after take gabapentin and Xanax I would go into a rage and feel hopeless and like nothings helping hate my situation, hate where I live haven't worked in 5 years been struggling not keeping a job due to anxiety and depression just never have felt happy. Anyway, Effexor for the last 5 days of taking it I have felt more stable shall I say not so depressed haven't had any episodes of rage or sadness or hopelessness but the side effects are getting on my nerves I already sweated so much due to anxiety the extreme sweating is bad everyday has anyone else experience this side effect? And how long will it be before I get relief. I'm supposed to increase next week to 75 but afraid it's gonna make me sweat more, other than sweating I have at times after first few hours of taking it moments of feeling like crap in general if I go too long without eating i feel almost so sick to my stomach some nausea happens as well but not bad doesn't last long. Knotted stomach hungry but not hungry if that makes sense, some grogginess and just uncomfortable at times but overall I feel like it has helped my moods and depression. I don't feel so nervous I guess. Can someone shed some light to this or should I ask to be changed to something else? And when I mean sweating I mean pouring sweat down my back hands and feet. Getting annoyed sweating is one thing I wanted to get rid of so bad!
Effexor - Has anyone who has ever had success with this med sweated so much?

I’m so sorry you are having to deal with so much everyday! I have been on Effexor XR for almost 18 years. I was prescribed for treating migraines. It has worked amazingly well for that. However, Effexor has some side effects that affect people differently in symptoms and severity. I am 62 and I do have a problem with night sweats. I also have a problem with temperature regulation within my body. The only time that it’s unbearable is during the summer. Honestly, I would talk to your pharmacist to discuss these meds adverse interactions with each other.
I would also talk to your Dr about getting the XR version of Effexor. That way your body doesn’t get hit all at once with the drug.
This med has been a life saver for me but it’s not without its adverse effects. God bless you as you navigate thru this.
