I have not taken any drugs for overactive bladder, however, there is a possible solution. Sacral nerve stimulation was developed to treat urinary incontinence. It also works for fecal incontinence, which I have. There is a testing period where electrodes are attached by a surgeon to your sacral nerve and run to a battery pack taped outside your skin. No baths or showers during this time. You are monitored closely by your surgeon and the equipment supplier technicians by phone and the device is adjusted to optimum settings. At the end of a successful outcome, a second minor surgery inserts a battery pack inside your skin above the left buttock. The incision heals and the device is fully concealed. It has a 60 to 80% success rate. I have gone from 5-6 nights a week with uncontrollable diarrhea, to less than one accident per month. Huge improvement.
