I started taking 25mg of sertraline 8 days ago and can’t really get a clear answer on if you can drink on these things? I understand the next day might feel hungover etc. but will it make me faint/projectile vomit/fall asleep. I probably won’t drink until I’ve been on them a couple months but just curious.
Can I drink on sertraline?

Hi, Becca!
Some people can get away with a few beers/drinks but overall it's best to abstain or limit the amount you drink while taking an antidepressant/anxiolytic.
Here's a link to the potential interaction:

The other thing is that sertraline is an antidepressant/anxiolytic and ethanol (drinking alcohol) is a depressant drug.
Best regards and I hope this helps.

I agree. Different people, different reaction. *I AM NOT A PROFRESSIONAL* I personally have drank a couple drinks without having an issue. HOWEVER! There is a big limit. Know and understand your limit and DONT push it. I would recommend not to, however, you make the ultimate decision. It can go wrong quickly.
I've been on it a long time and its not a good idea at all.
If you want to make Zoloft improve your anxiety/depression symptoms. Please avoid alcohol at all cost. Drinking can decrease the effectiveness of your medication.
