I take Metoprolol SUCC ER at 50 MG once a day and Amitriptyline HCL at 25 MG once before I go to sleep... Is it safe to drink one energy drink every now and then? (I am fully aware that they aren't that good for you in the first place... )
Can I drink energy drinks with my medication?

Good answers already Matt but if it is only once a week or so it should not hurt but it can cause more than anything some extra nervousness or irregular heartbeat . and alter the blood pressure a bit if anyone I would check with a pharmacist where he gets his prescriptions filled.
Hi, i agree, drinking energy drinks will oppose the effects of beta-blockers so it really isn't a good idea... 1 drink every now and then should be ok, but not on a regular basis
Hi, Matt! Amitriptyline can raise or lower your blood pressure; Metoprolol treats high blood pressure. It doesn't seem like a good idea to consume something that raises your blood pressure, at least not in excess. It would be best, I think, to consult with your physician or a licensed pharmacist about having an occasional indulgence.
