... about 2 months now. I have noticed that I get dizzy when I'm getting on a bus, or just out running errands. I just seem to get these dizzyspells. I also just recently noticed another possible side effect. I'm wondering if this is from taking this pill. I am having problems sexually. I guess it's called decreased sexual ability. Basically, I can't get to the point I want to. Don't know how else to explain it on here. Please let me know if this is a side effect that anyone else has experienced while taking this pill, and if this problem goes away if the pill is stopped. Thank you

Sorry I'm new here. I have been taking Metoprolol since 2014 and started a one per day. After a few months I started to dose off at my desk at work. My cardiologist change my dose to 1/2 pill twice daily and I haven't noticed any other problems.
Seems to be a common side effect for these blood pressure meds(beta-blockers)/I'm on propananol for my high blood pressure , maybe try that(I had similar probs like u, but they passed)good look
Unfortunately these are the side effects of taking Metoprolol, in about 10% of people who take the med dizziness has been reported.
Sexual side effects, such as a decrease in sex drive, were not reported as either a common or rare side effect with metoprolol. Sexual side effects have not been documented in clinical studies as either a common or rare problem. Although sexual side effects such as impotence or decreased sex drive have not been reported with metoprolol, it does not mean that these problems may not occur.
However if you think the side effects are too bothersome, you could seek medical advice and ask your doc to change your prescription.
Take care, be well & safe, best wishes!
Thank you for your answer. After I posted my question, I did a little research online. I read that this pill can cause a problem with one sexually, including having a problem reaching an orgasm. I called my doctor and told him about this side effect, and also the other side effect I have been having, which is dizziness. He told me that he feels it is all just psychological, and that when I stop taking the pill that things will go back to normal. I'm kind of upset that he would say this is in my head, when I didn't even know this was a side effect when I experienced difficulty with it. I will see him this week and will talk about switching me to another pill to see if a different one will be better for me. I know that one is never supposed to stop taking this pill without a doctors instructions because I have read that it can possibly cause a heart attack when just stopped after one has been taking it.
So I spoke to my doctor on how I can stop taking the pill based on my dosage and length of time taking it. I'd still like to hear from anyone who has experienced what I have while taking this pill. I'd like to know how long after stopping the pill did it take for things to go back to normal. Thanks again.
