A metabolite of trazodone, meta-chlorophenylpiperazine, can cause false positive test results on drug screens for amphetamines. They just wouldn't know it was trazodone causing that positive result without further investigation.
Most standard urine drug screens wont test for it. It is not a controlled substance. You would have to find a drug test that would test specifically for the drug and its metabolites. A doctors office could order a urine screen or blood test for it. I'm not sure if a home test is available though. Maybe someone else may know if there is a home test.
