I believe a relative is taking my mothers Trazadone because they sleeping a lot more than ever. Does anyone know if it will show up on a urine drug screen?
This question has also been asked and answered here: How long does Trazodone stay in your system?
Most standard urine drug screens wont test for it. It is not a controlled substance. You would have to find a drug test that would test specifically for the drug and its metabolites. A doctors office could order a urine screen or blood test for it. I'm not sure if a home test is available though. Maybe someone else may know if there is a home test.
A metabolite of trazodone, meta-chlorophenylpiperazine, can cause false positive test results on drug screens for amphetamines. They just wouldn't know it was trazodone causing that positive result without further investigation.
