My doctor has me on tramadol 50mg and xanax .5mg. Sometimes the tramadol makes me feel anxious and?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m not sure of your health history, but perhaps you could ask your doctor about a low dose beta blocker for your anxiety. Beta blockers affect blood pressure (which is why you should talk with your Dr. to see if this is an appropriate medication for you), but they are also prescribed for treating anxiety because they act in the part of the brain that creates anxiety and they are not habit forming the way benzodiazepines can be. Generally, depending on the beta blocker they have minimal side effects in low doses. I take clonidine to help manage my anxiety and Dr.’s will often prescribe them for individuals who have “performance anxiety” (like speaking in front of large groups).
