Gbyme: It DOES matter what company manufactures a generic, unlike the previous poster stated. The only ingredient in ALL generics that has to be the same legally is the active ingredient. The inactive ingredients, or fillers, can be different, can have one filler or more, and can affect the absorption rates/levels of the active ingredient, in most individuals. Anyone who has done any research at all knows this. It doesn't seem right for it to be this way, because this can really mess with a person. Pharmaceuticals and most doctors are corrupt and in cahoots with each other, "Forget your patients that have been on the same brand name drug for years, give them this generic, which I will make more money on, and I'll give you, Mr./Mrs. physician, a kickback. The average patient is ignorant when it comes to drugs, they'll never know the difference."
I'd LOVE to know how many peoples lives have been worsened, or even shortened, because of this greed.

So most people do not believe you when you tell them the different generics affect people differently but they absolutely do. I took a generic form of Adderall for years and it worked fine and then one month I got my script and it didn't affect me at all not one tiny bit. I called the pharmacy to complain and see what happened like if they just gave me a bad batch somehow or what and they told me it was a different manufacturer and that the grocery store was no longer going to be caring what I had been taking for years. After that my insurance ran out and so I did not have access to my medicine and I am still trying to find a way to get my medication at a cost that I can afford but I have not yet. People really do not understand that if you are not taking this medication it seriously affects your life and your ability to function properly. I will call my Pharmacy tomorrow and see if I can get the names of the two brands and which one worked and which one did not.
I will try to remember to come back on here and post it but since I'm not on my medication it's hard for me to remember anything, lol! I wish all these idiots that did not take medication would understand that not all generics are created equal!

I think the long acting 30mg Adderall is available in generic equivalents manufactured by Shire Development LLC, Barr Labs Inc, Par Pharm Inc and Corepharma although I'm not sure how readily available they are. It shouldn't matter whether you take the brand name Adderall XR or a generic equivalent, as long as it is from a reputable source, the effects should be the same as they contain the same combination of amphetamines and in the same amounts.
