I have taken both, lorazepam is a long acting benzodiazepine while alprazolam has shorter one.
Lorazepam is used in the treatment of anxiety; insomnia; sedation; nausea/vomiting; light anesthesia , and belongs to the drug classes benzodiazepine anticonvulsants, benzodiazepines, miscellaneous antiemetics.
Alprazolam is used in the treatment of anxiety; panic disorder; depression; tinnitus; dysautonomia and belongs to the drug class benzodiazepines.
Take care,
