I got prescribed D-Amphetamine Salt Combo at 10mg (a Blue B|972, 10 oval tab) , while my boyfriend is prescribed amphetamine/dextroamphetamine at 10mg (a blue U27 circular tab). I was wondering what the difference is because I personally like my boyfriend’s medication more than my own but I am not sure what the actual difference is between the two. Please help me understand!
What is the difference between a amphetamine/dextroamphetamine 10mg and generic Adderall at 10mg?

same thing
No, not the same thing. The blue b-972 is a generic adderall, mixed Amphetamine salts a product of Teva. This is normally the preferred generic .The U-27 is a product of Aurorlife pharma labeled Amphetamine/dextroamphetamine. Are they mixed salts of the two, I would say yes. But there is something way different, I don't have that information as there is no transparency making these products very mysterious. Personally I don't like them, make me extremely anxious
I know I said no, not the same thing. But Amphetamines are basically the same, except there four distinct amphetamine salts within any Adderall. Different formulations put together by many different manufacturers with little or no transparency. I've been taking different forms of Amphetamine salts for years. Bensamphetamine, Dextroamphetamine, and dexamyl, made by Smith Kline and French. There was Obetrol, was the first brand name Adderall was Obetrol, made Bensamphetamine/ Dextroamphetamine/ and Methamphetamine. Later versions the Meth was removed. The binders were used in pressing the tablet together. Or the capsule form were time release. Brand name Adderall while being basically the same ingredients were different than the generics, in most cases much better. In the past there were Dexamyl, a combination drug, Dexedrine, Bifetamine's, Bifetamine-T, another combination version, made by Strasenburg pharma.
There was Desoxyn tablets, 5mg, 10, and 15 mg of methamphetamine produced by Abbott pharma. A poly plastic tablet with the amphetamine incorporated into the tablet making a time release version. There were others, I don't remember them all, but they were or similar make up. These versions could cause insomnia, so usually a barbiturate was prescribed for sleep. The biggest difference with these versions is they worked every time, no matter what !
I wanted to clarify something I said, the name I used was Bensadrine or Bensamphetamine. Some may not know what this is, or was. Originally Bensamphetamine was brand name for Amphetamine Sulfate. This Amphetamine no longer exists in the U.S. Bensamphetamine was made by Smith, Kline, and French. This was a very popular Amphetamine, called by some, Pep pills in the mid 60's into the early 70's. This salt was also popular with truckers for long hauls. It was decided by some that this Amphetamine salts would be discontinued. It was never made Illegal but is no longer available in the U.S. Bensadrine was a very euphoric Amphetamine, it was preferred by some even over methamphetamine. Obetrol also contained Bensadrine/Dextroamphetamine and methamphetamine. The meth was removed in the eighty's .
They’re both generic Adderall. The B|972 pill is supplied by Teva. Your boyfriends U27 pill is supplied by Aurolife pharmaceuticals. Your Teva brand is actually the best quality generic on the market. However, every generic works differently for some people.
Psych; take them the same as adderall, as my buddy steve said, they are the same brand and generic and most people that do have problems it is more the placebo effect truth is the generic companys are allowed the same room for difference with is 3. 5 to 4 % don't worry about it.
I once spoke with a pharmacist who informed me it's not quite accurate to repeat regarding generics: "exact same chemical composition." Individuals react differently to simple binding agents, which vary greatly from one manufactured drug to another.
A pharmacist told me the same thing.
The grass is greener syndrome, they are identical in chemical composition: https://www.drugs.com/pro/dextroamphetamine-saccharate-amphetamine-aspartate-dextroamphetamine-sulfate-amphetamine-sulfate.html
https://www.drugs.com/pro/adderall.html
The tables of contents are quite clear.
Steve thanks, I get burned out at times you can't explain to some people hope you feeling well my friend. Chuck.
The main/active ingredient is the same, but they are not identical in chemical composition. The binding/kicker ingredients in each brand are different from each other.
