I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and my GP put me on mirtazapine at night. Recently she has added 50mg of sertraline to be taken in the morning, along with the sertraline she prescribed 2mg of diazepam to be taken twice daily for 4 weeks to help with the initial side effects of sertraline.I do feel a bit better but I am concerned about withdrawals from the diazepam some days I would only take 1mg and other days just 1 2mg depending on my anxiety, took the last 1mg diazepam yesterday,GP says that I will be fine but I am still concerned about withdrawals, maybe i have been reading too much negative reviews, anyway any help would be appreciated.
Can diazepam 2mg cause withdrawals when stopped?

I have been taking diazepam for 20 years, I've never had any problems with getting off of it. First off, a 2 mg dose is a very low dose. Anyway what I have been doing I is a take the 5 mg diazepam tablets 3 times a day for maybe as long as 10 days. Then I stop taking the diazepam for 2 or 3 days. Then I start taking it again. The 2 or 3 day rest from diazepam stops the possibility of my getting addicted to it. My doctor fro long ago suggested this method and it works very well, I take this drug as a muscle relaxer, Right now I am off if it. Bur if need be I can start taking it again and stop taking it, if necessary, without any problems. Been doing this for the last 20 years.
Yes, but your doctor seems careful to only prescribe it in the meantime for 4 weeks.
I take 5 to 10 mg per day but average far less over months. My experience at worse has been vivid dreams upon abrupt and sudden cessation. I believe it fairly benign. I hope this makes you feel better?
Good luck with your anxiety disorder. :)
