I finally connected diarrhea with having taken10 mL of dextromethorphan within three to four hours. No cramping. I am 73 years old, currently taking Losartan/HCT for blood pressure and Ventolin HGA for asthma.
Does dextromethorphan cause diarrhea in adults?

Also check the label, see if there is sorbitol in the inactive ingredients. It is often used in medicine as an artificial sweetener and its also a natural laxative to some people.

Sorbitol is not listed. Guess I was just unlucky and will stay from from the cough syrup. Thanks for your suggestion.

I took the 8 hr tablet and after 2 doses had severe diarrhea. It was not combined with a decongestant.
