You can certainly try it. Its not going to hurt you. Don't try to gain weight too fast, its better if you can exercise and build muscle mass.
Excercise builds your muscles permanently,it will bring other benefits to you,just try excercising,resting and taking adequate diets.If you want to try anyways,it doesn't harm to try.
