Hello to all. First off, a little about me. I have suffered with severe anxiety/panic for several years. I had been on Celexa for a good length of time, but it never really had an overwhelming positive effect.
I was just switched to sertraline 25 mg 6 days ago and I have had a myriad of side effects (increased anxiety, sweats, nausea and minor heart palpitations). I want to give this medication an honest chance to work, so I am trying to be patient.
My question is... are the issues I mentioned above typical side effects when starting on sertraline?
Day 6 on sertraline 25 mg and... Yuck!?

Yes. Increased sweating, anxiety, neausea and heart palpitations are the sideffects that i had also when starting sertraline. Dont worry about that. It Will stop very soon, just keep taking pills every day as doctor prescribed to you. I started at 25mg, after 1 week i was on 50, after one month on 75mg about half year ago and thats my standard working dose now. Btw i also started taking sertraline for anxiety and terrifying panic disorder. I felt improvment after 3-4 weeks of taking sertraline. Now i can finally live normal life Like i used to years ago. So my advice for you is be strong my friend and give sertraline time to start working. All best wishes. Greetings z Croatia.
Thank you for the reply and for easing my worries. A lot of my anxiety is health anxiety and I always think something is wrong with my heart. Have had some testing done and everything has come back normal. You would think that would ease my mind, but instead... my mind says, "What if the doctor missed something"? And I start worrying again! UGH!
