Yes, in a few cases Cymbalta has been reported to cause painful urination and urine hesitancy. How long have you been on your medication?
Side effects generally resolve within just days to a couple of weeks but if it's persistent you should report it to your doctor.
Also, you should never stop taking this type of medication abruptly unless you've only been on it for a couple of days or you could experience symptoms of discontinuation.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better quickly.
I took it for 7 days.I decided the side effects isn't worth it.It makes my legs more restless than they ever was and I get rls every night and burning feet. After I stopped taking it I had experienced muscle jerking to point I lifted up off the bed last night.I talked to my daughters dr.this morning and he said I was started out on too strong if a dose.I am afraid to even reconsider this med even if my dr.agreed to lower dose.I didn't tell my dr about the trouble urinating since I didn't know they was linked at the time. Thanks for answering my question.I am new on here.
Well, welcome to Drugs.com! There are a lot of people here who are happy to share information and personal experiences.
If you were started on even the recommended initial it may have been too much for your metabolism to handle all at once. Everybody responds differently to these medications and some folks do better starting on a very low dose which often minimizes or eliminates the side effects. Just something to consider.
Thank you ! I believe it was too much of a starter dose ,but I believe I will stay clear from it period.I don't know if my dr would even lower my dose since I had notified him from day one and my side effects wasn't even this severe and he didn't seem concerned. The pharmacy said it was a high dose but he persisted to continue the 60 mg.
" For some patients, it may be desirable to start at 30 mg once daily for 1 week, to allow patients to adjust to CYMBALTA before increasing to 60 mg once daily. "
From the Drugs.com literature...
