Hi Lightening,
I would call the doctor to ask how you should taper off or not? You may be doing it too fast. Also sounds like you are having Benign Positional Vertigo. When you move your head a certain way it can happen. I have this and if I move a certain way I get dizzy and can feel nauseous. Sometimes it can get really bad other times it's just there a bit. It can last days to months and go and come back. It can happen in bed too when you turn from one position to another. Look it up on the internet. Mention to your doctor the dizziness too.
Take care,
Hello lightening58. I suggest a taper. SSRI's can be very harsh in withdrawls/side effects. Your doctor could set up a plan to help ease your symptoms.. Regards pledge
Are you trying to cut down on Paxil because of the fact it makes you dizzy or because you have cut it in half you are dizzy.
You should only cut back on These types of medication under a doctors supervision. If you are having these side effects, contact your doctor and ask him/her to prescribe another antidepressant.
Please do this immediately.
Sincerely,

i have been on paxil for about a year, trying to wein off after retiring to summer home didnt feel like needed it any longer have been cutting in half for about a week im also a diabetic I take glipiride not spelled right and metformin and also 8 gabapetin a day for stenosis of the lower spine and leg problems also take ompermozole for stomach issues im on ss and trying to do paperwork for ssd because when I got bad enough I took an early retirement at 62 but also lost my ins ive had for last 15 years and live on a limited budget... thank you for any help in this matter... when I yawn sometimes most of time actually makes me nauseated for a couple of min this started a few months ago it does subside after a couple of min. the dizziness is odd because I can be standing with my body still and turn my head to look at something and the dizziness comes on immediately and then it makes me terribly tired following the episode but does this on a reg basis for the last several days.
its very worrisome and scary as for the moment I live alone..Thank you for any help you can give me... sincerly lightening now 62
