Hello all. Just got home from the doctor and super excited about starting contrave but I'm finding it's not $50-60 as the doctor had told me it's almost three times that amount. Anyone finding it close to that price anywhere?

No, the price will vary from state to state. Pharmaceutical companies have done studies to get the very most of out insurance companies and insurers for their profit margins.
This drug was denied approval in 2011 by our FDA to due heart attack concerns and is still a BIG warning on it's consumer information packet.
I suggest you join weight watchers for $39.95/month, learn how to eat properly, and exercise properly instead of looking for a magic bullet that puts your body at risk of death.

Tony, you are a MAN so I will give you the benefit of the doubt you may not really understand a menopausal woman in her 40's to 50's who as a result of imbalanced hormones finds her metabolism shot to hell. Combined with physical limitations, plantar fasciaitis and sciatic nerve problems, Weight Watcher is also not a "magic bullet". I have been on a 1200-1400 calorie diet for 8 months and have lost 3 lbs. Thank you for your "warning label", but as an educated woman, I will read and compare the pro's and con's of each of the diet meds in conjunction with being closely monitored by my physician. I've tried Weight Watchers and it is not the be all end all. In fact, I tried it twice and the first time the meeting leader was a condescending bit**, not encouraging or supportive at all. Sounds like you are doing infomercials for Weight Watchers -- and this is not the appropriate forum for that.

@ ITHealthcare You are probably suffering from a gut bacterial imbalance. you should research M.Smithi and research the procedure to change your gut makeup. good luck!

I have to support the woman who initially wrote the comment. I have u know Weight Watchers does not work for everyone. I was on Weight Watchers for 6 months. I stayed on the diet. I lost ZERO pounds!!!

No, I am not reimbursed for my WW info bit, I’ve just a member since 1985, and battled yo yo dieting for ages. I was really trying to help you and also warn you about the drug. I really am very, very sorry.
