Has anyone ever taken Sudafed being prescribed adderall ER? I have never taken Sudafed my doctor recommended it. I have a bad sinus infection and my ear is clogged. Is it safe to take together?

My doctor knows I’m prescribed the adderall and I did ask her but I’ve come to realize a lot of doctors don’t know about drug interactions. She claims it is ok but I’m skeptical.

There are 2 moderate interactions between both meds, moderate meaning:
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Interactions between your drugs
Moderate
pseudoephedrine amphetamine
Applies to: Sudafed Sinus Nighttime Plus Pain (acetaminophen / diphenhydramine / pseudoephedrine), Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine)
Both pseudoephedrine and amphetamine can increase blood pressure and heart rate, and combining them may enhance these effects. Talk to your doctor before using these medications, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure or heart disease. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

I suggest that if you feel uneasy about these potential interactions, wait and take the Sudafed until you can talk to your Dr. on Monday, when you can get properly medical advice.
That’s the thing my primary doctor is the one who suggested it. I asked her about my concern and she said the opposite but I still just didn’t think it would be ok. I think I will go to urgent care. Thank you
You are welcome and I wish you the very best.
