Sorry,, not sure why it cut it off...
Two days ago my doctor took me off 10mg of Viibryd I had been taking for almost 5 weeks because I developed an allergic reaction and/or signs of serotonin syndrome. I was also taking .25mg of xanax 3x a day. She took me off both and put me on clonazepam .25mg 2x a day. Since stopping the first two and starting the clonazepam, I have been a mess. I'm not sleeping well, my body aches, etc. The first day was the worst. I felt like I wanted to run through a wall! I have health anxiety and I hate taking meds but this is needed to control panic attacks. Am I going through withdrawal? Is this a bad reaction to the clonazepam? I can't get ahold of my psychiatrist as she is drowning in patients right now. But I was just wondering if anyone else had made this switch and if any of this was normal or am I over reacting. Please be gentle, I'm already anxious enough as it is.

Also, how long before I'm leveled out?? Still anxious in public and driving.

I have a question; did your doctor abruptly stop you from taking Viibryd without weaning or tapering you off the medication? 5 weeks may seem a short time but I am assuming your experience withdrawals symptoms from Viibryd. And did doctor wean you off from alprazolam after 5 weeks of use before placing you on clonazepam? As alprazolam is considered a controlled substance and 5 weeks of used shouldn’t be stop abruptly. Then your doctor considered place you on Klonopin? Did your doctor at least say to you why she’s putting you on benzodiazepines, because these are controlled substances that should be taking short-term(at least six weeks). I believed the symptoms your experience are from alprazolam and/or Viibryd.
Sorry for the typos, I was typing really fast.
Nope and nope. Was told to just stop the Viibryd because it's the lowest dose. Stop the Xanax and start the Clonazepam. She is giving me the benzo because Viibryd is about the 10tj SSRI I've tried with horrible results. Also was having daily panic attacks before starting Xanax.
Didn't taper or wean me off anything. Just switched them up.
Yes that’s the problem not tapering off, especially the alprazolam. It may seem 5 weeks is a short duration to stop alprazolam. But you can build up tolerance on these medications quickly. So it’s important not to abruptly stop as withdrawals may be worsen. Alprazolam is fast acting with a shorter half life, being used for 5 weeks without taper and then immediately switching to clonazepam whilst stopping abruptly also with Viibryd, may be a bit tense for your system. Even the lowest possible dose affect everyone differently.
This is just my opinion.
I have been looking into it and completely agree. I'm 3 days in now, I think the worst part is over. Fingers crossed.
Your Dr. may have taken you off Viibryd - from your comment -: "I'm not sleeping well." I've been on Viibryd and increased my blood pressure. Could be a cause of trouble sleeping.
