I am experiencing a loss of my eyebrows and a receding hair line (I am female). I am taking two capsules of 600 mg per day and have for 6 weeks. I do not know what is causing this condition - could or could not be the red yeast rice. I just want to know if this is a possibility.
Can red yeast rice cause hair loss?

Been using red yeast rice 600mg 2 capsules daily for about nine months helped lower my cholesterol and LDL but lately I am noticing thinning of my hair. I am stopping this supplement to see if my hair will regrow. Started using biotin shampoo will see if that will increase hair growth.
I,too, started red yeast rice for cholesterol problems. After 10 months of taking it sporadically, I am experiencing hair thinning and loss at both temples. Have asked hair stylist, GP and ob/gun but no one has an answer. I'm just going to get off and hope for the best.
