Weight changes with buspirone are rare:
"Metabolic
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Weight gain, weight loss"
I've been taking it for about 4 years now and I haven't had any change in my weight.

PS, As Alpha said, 60mg is the maximum daily dose you can take... if lower doses aren't effective enough your doctor can increase it.
That’s a good question. I have been on this medication for nearly two decades. My weight has stayed pretty consistent. Research indicates the maximum daily dosage is 60 mg. Most people start out at a smaller dose and gradually increase it to a therapeutic level. This medication does take a few weeks to reach that level. Everyone is different, so your results may vary.
