I take 15 mg at bedtime and was wondering if I could cut the pill in half. This dose knocks me out for 8 hrs but I have very vivid strange dreams every night. I have a dull headache during the day and am not a person who ever had headaches so I relate it to this medication. I also feel like I get static in my head. It is annoying. It is one of the better meds I took, less side effects but the headaches are starting to wear me down and my energy level is affected daily. I am very sensitive to meds and that is why this is my fifth try at anxiety meds.

it should be dosed twice a day, every 12hrs at 7.5mg. Don't do it now on your own because you already have 15 in your body. Wait until you can talk to your dr.
I was prescribed at first to take 15 mg two times a day but the day dose gave me a headache and I had to lay down for at least an hour with feelings of lethargy and head static. I started myself taking only one before bed without telling my Dr. which I know is wrong. He was okay with it when I talked to him. I really seem to be to sensitive very sensitive to all drugs and OTC as well. i will take your advise and talk to him about further lowing my dosage. Thanks for your opinion.
Forgot to mention I have been on this medication for a few years and still have side effects. Some other medications game me a very dry mouth so we changed but now I found you can buy lozengers at the pharmacy for dry mouth to get you through the medication adjustment period.
Not advisable without your Dr's approval, this qualifies as a dosage change, something only the Dr can authorize, also it would give your Dr valuable data as to how this med is affecting you. If you have already tried changing when you take it, wait until your Dr can be advised of the situation and direct you to a solution, which will enhance future care as well.
Thank you for your thoughts and opinion. I know you are right. I shall contact my Dr, and see what he has to say.
You are VERY welcome. Let me know what comes of it.
I have been taking Buspar at 15 the last month and started to experience all these things too..
Even though my Dr knows I take half approx 12 hours apart he is okay with it. It barely takes the edge off of my anxiety. I still have vivid dreams if I take later than 8:00 p.m. and I still have static feeling in my head but my Dr. said that I need some medication. This medication is the mildest I have been on. No weight gain side effects with is great for me. I do sleep about nine hours a night. Could sleep more if home alone.
