I take buspirone twice a day. I was wondering what times of day others who take it twice a day take it. Currently I am taking my first dose at 9:00 a.m. and my second dose at 7:00 p.m. . I'm hoping to get some feedback on what others do, if they have experimented with different times and what they have found to work best. Thank you all who answer in advance
BuSpar - How much time do you allow between twice daily doses?

Hi, jammark!
I also take buspirone... 30mg at 6am and 30mg at 8:00pm. I've never changed my dosage except initially when my doses were increased and this timing has worked well for me for many years.
Generally speaking, you should allow at least 8 hours between doses of most medications.
You'll need to see how you respond to the buspirone and experiment a little with the timing because every person may react differently than the next.
Thank you for sharing your own experience.
Due to the extremely short half life, I initially took at 8 am and 8pm. But that didn’t seem to work as well as I would’ve liked. I still had a lot of “breakthrough anxiety”. When I changed to 8am, 4pm, and 12am, it was like a switch was flipped and my anxiety was shut off. I’ve been on 45 mgs a day since 2002, and it works great for me. I hope this helps, good luck to you.
So you take three doses daily. That is interesting. I will speak to my health care provider about that. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
