eat something before taking your antibiotic. you probably have a urinary track infection (uti), alot of women get a white or sometimes yellowish discharge and itching while on antibiotics, but if your bleeding you need to check with your gynocologist, unless you hurt yourself scratching there should be no blood,
They're abslutely right! When I had a kidney stone they pumped me full of antibitics at the hospital. With in a wk I was at my gyno freaking out he was like u have a yeast infection I never had ne I almst wanted to kill my hubby I thought he gave me an std or smething {this was when we first got together} the dr laughed and said don't kill him its from the antibiodic! I never had one before or again but monistat 7 or vagis great at any store less than 20$ better in a week oh and wear cotton underwear not lace or nylon gd luck get well soon!
You know what I was also thinking watch out for what pain reliever he gave you cause I had a dentist give me tylenal 3 those really upset my stomache makes me nause and every thing s that can be litl aggetating as well. Other drs give toredal that wuldnt upset your stomache like t.3 or vicadin upsets alot of peoples sotmache s maybe u should also look at the pain killer they maybe able to change that to take care of your stomache expecially if yur not use to them its the bld that's bothering me take care its 2am I really should be sleeping sorry for rambling good luck! Hi Mafecol... try to take the PCN with some food in your tummy... taking it on an empty stomach can be wretched. It sounds like you might have a UTI (urinary tract infection). Call your doc and see if u can drop off a "clean catch" urine for analysis. Then you can be treated appropiately for that... what a pain... right??? Re: vaginal itching... Penicillins are notorious for causing what is called a "superinfection" which means that it disturbs your normal bacterial flora in places like your vagina. We all have "good" bacteria living in places in our bodies. When we take something like PCN it disturbs the normal bacterial flora that maintains your normal homeostasis... therefore producing a "superinfection." basically, dear, it sounds like you have a "run of the mill" yeast infection. There are over-the-counter medicines that you can use... you can get these at any pharmacy or grocery store.
But what REALLY works best is a medicine called Diflucan. It is by prescription only and you only have to take one pill. If the infection is bad you may have to take one more pill a few days later. Whenever I am prescribed PCN I always get a script for Diflucan also because, invariably, I will get a yeast infection. So I would recommend calling your doc and getting a script for Diflucan. If that is not possible... then go to the pharmacy and get one of the over the counter remedies. The pharmacist can help you with that.
Anyway... I hope that you soon feel better. Let me know how it all works out... get better gurl...
From past experience, some antibiotics and penicillin' can cause yeast infections. I would suggest two things:
You can try using the over the counter of Vagisil. There are a few options of this, and I think the long acting works pretty well. Also, if you like yogurt, I suggest eating some of that for a week will help. It balances your ph levels out. If you cannot treat this yourself within a week, you may want to check with your doctor who can prescribe a medicine that is a bit stronger to address the infection. Don't worry. This is a common (sadly) problem that a lot of women have with some antibiotics.
Hope this helps,

Hey Mafecol,
You probably have a fungal infection as a result of the antibiotic. You need to consult a doctor for treatment. There are over the counter medicines for female vaginal fungal infections which you can find in the feminine hygiene aisle of the store, but with the symptoms you are having I recommend you consult the doc.
Best wishes,
Laurie
