081823 I take my .5mg about 30 minutes before I want to sleep. I normally fall asleep 1/2 to 2 hours afterwards. If I need to, I take another .5 as needed. I have found that, for me, taking clon with 200mg of gabapentin is a good combination for the best sleep success.
Good luck and success with your treatment.
When I was on clonazepam for RLS, I found taking it 30 minutes before I went to bed worked best for me. Best wishes with your RLS.

Do you feel tired the next day? I do
**UPDATE**
I no longer take clonazepam, but I now take 1 mg of Mirapex ONE HOUR BEFORE I go to bed. This works much better. And in place of the clonazepam I take 0.5 mg to 1 mg of diazepam (Valium) per my doctor's advice, 30 minutes to 1 hour before I go to bed.
The diazepam helps me relax and keeps me from having muscle spasms which are very painful.
The Mirapex helps my legs stay still and keeps the 'creepy crawlers away so I can sleep.
The combination of the diazepam and Mirapex make me sleepy, but I'm not groggy when I get up and I usually have had a good night's sleep
