I was prescribed Lamictal today and no where in the pamphlet or the prescription bottle does it say am or pm... any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I'm typically in a down state with low energy but I do work a daytime job so I want to make sure im not too drowsy or out of it whiele working...

I take mine at 9am. Only one pill. I tried one at night & it makes me too drowsy in the morning. The best time is to take it about 5pm. if I feel like I need to take one more.

I’m a long term user and either time will work. It’s a short acting drug though so splitting doses can help, I’ve always taken it in the pm with no side effects and I’m on the maximum 400mg dose. if I accidentally miss taking it though, the next day feels like I have the bends until I realised I’d missed it, in which case I’ll take a half dose which straightens me out in about an hour and the other half at the usual time.

Hi, I've always take my Lamictal at bedtime That's when my dr suggests taking it. It does make me sleepy and tired so it helps me sleep better. Everyone is different though. It might just be trial and error with you. If it were me, I would try it at bedtime first, just in case it does make you sleepy. You can always switch Ruth

I always took my Lamictal in the morning because that's when I take the most of my medications. I never had any trouble with drowsiness or any other side effect for that matter. It's trial and error as each person's response to the drug will be different. Try taking it in the morning and if it makes you drowsy take it at night instead. Pharmocologically, it makes no difference in the the drug's efficacy when you take it ~ just be sure to take it at the same time each day.

I was told to take it twice a day, but the larger dose before bed as it can cause drowsiness. I've found mid-day/evening and night work for me as it makes me sleepy - even counteracting my ADHA medication. (Adderall)

Just got prescribed this today. It can give you energy so my psychiatrist told me to take it in the morning.
