Still have pain 24/7. Surgeon states my rib cage and stomach were cut during the surgery and pain may last for years! I’m miserable!

I presume you are seeing a pain doc now? If not ( I am a retired one)- you should go see one. There are nerve blocks, especially under the ribs that might help with your pain. Bone pain is a really bad pain, so I do feel for you. There are also other things that pain docs can do for you- I happen to respond really well to electrical stimulation and have an implanted spinal cord stimulator. There are also a host of medications that can also alleviate pain- like anti-seizure meds, some low dose anti-depressants, etc. that most surgeons aren't aware of. So please ask for a referral to a good pain management physician- we can help!
I have been going to pain management for eight years. I got food poisoning last week. Very sick. I had an appointment on Monday. My Dr took a urine sample and found no Percocet. I couldn't take anything without throwing up. Now she is going to dismiss me. What do I do?
