I have been taking tramadol for a week now and am having the same symptoms as if i were on speed, loss of appetite, happiness, slight confusion? I have to think harder, loads of energy, sweating, most importantly NO more pain.
Does anyone else have these symptoms?

I did when I was taking above the maximum dosage. It is very dangerous to do this though & I'm lucky, could have had much worse health problems than I did. I became addicted to Tramadol due to misuse. Please be very careful. especially if u have a history of addiction
thanks for the advice. I guess its the happy high feeling you get is what makes it addictive, but i also get the come down so i know when im due to take my next dose, im thinking this is not good and maybe i need to go see my doctor before it gfets out of control!!
Thanks for your reply, its been almost a week now but already begining to feel dependant, i get a come down when my next dose is due, so least i dont froget lol
joking aside, i have read that some people have had to use methodone to help come off trams, is this correct ? do you know?
Hi, using Methadone to discontinue Tramadol isn't a good idea. They both work on the same brain receptors, and Methadone can also be addictive, basically you are swapping one addiction for another. If you have been taking Tramadol for just 1 week, you should be able to wean off it pretty quickly, without too much medical assistance. Maybe you will notice a short period of insomnia, nausea, headaches(?), lethargy. But it should be pretty short lived. If however you decide to keep taking Tramadol, please never take more than you doctor has prescribed and just be aware that it is possible to build a dependency.
And others like me have no side effects. I wish I had the weight loss and energy, lolol... tramadol has an anti depressant effect, but this should not be causing euphoria. Do not take more then prescribed for that effect or you'll end up addicted to it.
thank you for your reply, maybe the euphoria im feeling is a natural high as my life has slightly changed for the better!
the weight loss is slow but well needed..great for me struggling to get in my jeans! lol
i definatly will not be taking more than nessesary!! the downside is lack of sleep, i took some temazipan to sleep but did not work still woke up 3/4 times during the night???
Hi mashby, try to take it earlier in the day and not at night, because it's causing insomnia, which is common. Tread carefully, if you feel euphoria.
You don't want to get addicted to it, as the withdrawal is hellish and potentially dangerous.
IF you take too much, you may have a seizure, so do be careful.

Yes, all of what you are experiencing are common side effects. Others have the opposite, they are very fatigued when taking Tramadol. Be very careful with this medication, as it's an opioid pain med and can be addictive, IF you are predisposed to addiction.
It's great that your pain is gone.
Best wishes,
Lara
p.s. Tramadol is unique, it acts like an SNRI antidepressant, so if you take it for a long time you may be depressed when getting off of Tramadol. Just a heads up for you.
p.s. that "happiness" that you feel is Euphoria, and that is what makes this medication addictive for some people, but not all people.
thanks for the advice lara, i do like the feeling i get since taking them, they do however block the pain which after a month is great for me, i tried coceine but that never worked i had similar side affects for a few days but then i think i got immune to them, tramodol however the symptoms are not going... is it true, do you know, that some people have to take methodone to wean off tramadol?
NO, people don't need methadone to get off of Tramadol, that would be major overkill. You can taper off of Tram slowly when it's time, when your doctor thinks you are ready to be off of it he/she will (should!) taper you off of it.
