I have horrible nonstop tingling and burning sensations in my hands and feet from this drug.
I’m annoyed it was prescribed to me without the doctor telling me this could be a side-effect. I didn’t even receive a pamphlet with this medication and I thought neurological issues from the drug would be very rare, but they appear to be more common than I thought, especially in people who have vitamin B deficiencies and anemia. If I had known this, I would never have taken the drug.
I just want the burning and pins and needles to stop.
This seemed like it was a safe medication, but it’s the worst antibiotic I’ve ever been on (and I did full courses of Cipro and metronidazole—two that are listed as potentially causing PN—without any issues).
Has anyone recovered from peripheral neuropathy as a result of Macrobid?
