The ringing in my ears is high pitched, 24/7, and causes shakiness and irritability. It occurs in both ears. I can hear it everywhere I go. I try to mask it in many ways--always a battle that I never win. ENT and family physicians have no answers for me--just "live with it"! If there were a surgical procedure, I would even go that far to solve this daily torment!
Does anyone have non-stop ringing in ear(s) for months at a time?

I have the same problem. Although frowned apon, smoking marijuana almost always stops it for the day, at least.
The ringing is called tinnitus. I had it in one of my ears for a really long time. I thought it could have been caused by a drug I was taking, but it turns out I just had fluid in my ear. I would try to clear your ears or consult a different ENT. Hope this helps ;)
Hi bubble talks so your ringing went away after the fluid was out of your ears? I am going to see an ENT tomorrow. I have been hearing the ringing for 2 weeks now I believe it's becoming unbearable. I hope you are able to respond. I have seen many posts about tinnitus but no updates as to whether or not theirs has gone away.
Thank you!
The ringing did in fact go away after the fluid was out. Your ENT will help with that, and then you should no longer have tinnitus :)
That is so awesome for you! Fortunately no fluid in my ears... unfortunately. I have tinnitus and eustacian tube dysfunction. Was told to use flonase and antihistamines for 12 weeks. Is this valid? Anyone heard of this or this is just an easier way of saying sorry but you're in it for the long run.
I have had strong, loud ringing in my ears for 6 months, non stop, 24 hours a day, never stops. Seems worse in my right ear. I have been examined by several doctors and my ears are very clean, no infection, no Tinnitus. I search the internet without finding an answer, like this page. Multiple ring frequencies all at once, all high pitched. I fell in March of 2013 hard, blacked out in the street, woke up bloody with a smashed left hand, run over by a car. I lost most of the use of my left hand. My head was bleeding, etc. Had multiple casts on my left arm and hand. But, I noticed the ringing in my ears, shortly after the accident. I also can not take a deep breath, without feeling my nerves light up from my chest all the way to the tips of my left hand fingers. Like an electric shock, whenever I take a deep breath. I have felt very isolated since the accident, people hear your problems, but the brain, nerves, too complicated for most everyday type doctors. Thank you for your time and blog.
Hi everyone who has responded,
I cannot believe this horrible affliction is so prevalent! It's not right that there is no help available! I, too, am on Medicare, and have found out that it does not make a difference whatsoever in finding help! If I ever find relief, I will surely share it with you all. This problem has interferred with all aspects of my life. Sometimes I feel as if I am going to go mad. I have no one in my life to help--those with a partner/husband are so blessed. I have been alone with this loud, obnoxious intruder of ringing in the ear for 20 years! God be with you all.Susan
OMgosh! another me out there searching for an answer to this horrible ordeal. I have that too only I went deaf in the ear that I hear all the Noise in. Sometimes it's ringing, sometimes it sounds like a freight train. Drives me nuts! My doctor told me nothing will help, but an audiologist, said a cholear implant would help it. Now if you can still hear they probably wouldn't do one. I have heard, don't know if it's true, but I'm on Medicare, & if you can hear out of one side they won't pay for it. Isn't that a crock? My husband & I watch two different kinds of TV, & we have a battle of the remotes every night as to who's is loudest because I can'thear over the Noise! If you find something let me know would you please...
Hello..I have the same thing and also have been told to live with it. I find if i keep some noise around me (tv,radio, wave machine) I tend to tolerate it more. If there is silence it seems magnifyed. wish i could give you a solution, but all I can do is tell you that you are not alone. paddyanne47
That has to be awful, I'm sure it stresses you out. Could it be blood pressure? Have you done searches online to see if you can find an answer for yourself?
Hope you find the answer and feel better soon.
Thank you for your input, and such kind words. I have had had tinnitus for years periodically, however, the past 7 months have been non-stop and louder/more intense. My blood pressure is under control most of the time. I have a monitor at home and have noticed regardless of it being somewhat higher or normal, the ringing remains the same. I do take Benicar Hct and it is most often effective. I've done massive research on line for years, and esp. lately. Nothing new out there that I have found. I went to an ENT man and he basically said just to live with it. Susan
I am 25 years old and i have anxiety for everything! Can this be new symptom that im experiencing? Please somebody give me hope! Ive had this loud ringing in both ears for 2 weeks :( i feel like im going a little crazy
I have had constant ringing in my left ear since I had an MRI in April 2015. The noise of the MRI was extremely loud and since then I have had this constant ringing . I am told my specialist I just have to live with it at Sutter Health in Fairfield, CA . I believe they just do not know how to treat this symptom.
