I regularly only take a half dose. I have a body that always is a tad constipated due to use of pain and nausea medication. However on days I have no pain, sometimes my bowels get loose because my body goes through subtle withdrawal. Because of this, if it is ever more than three days between bowel movements, I take a half dose mixed with juice and then drink a cup of coffee, and that's usually enough to get the effect I need. Ultimately if it works, there's no harm in reducing your dose unless you are under a doctor's order to take the full amount for a bowel prep scenario.
