Get something with simethicone for the gas, like gas x . Is miralax helping you? I am not a fan of it, I don't see it do allot for people who are very constipated. I'd get the prescription filled. Generalac and lactulose are the same, there are many different names for it but lactolose is the generic.
Here is something I keep forgetting about. When I was a supervisor in a nursing home, we used allot of laxatives and we found a recipe that we started giving the patients every morning with breakfast and it worked wonders. You mix equal parts of applesauce, prune juice and millers bran. You can keep a bowl of it in your frig. Every morning you eat 2 tbsps of it. We mixed it in their oatmeal. They ate the oatmeal more too, gave it some flavor.
They are two totally different meds.
