I am in between insurances and can't afford to go to hospital for this.
I have some allopurinol that expired March 2017. Is it still Ok to take? I'm having a gout attack?

Answers
Allopurinol doesn't help once a gout attack starts and may prolong the attack if started during an acute attack.
Depending on your medical history you may need treatment with Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drugs such as Naproxen or Diclofenac or alternatively Colchicine. Guessing by the Insurance comment you are in the USA so go and see a community Pharmacist they should be able to suggest something over the counter to help.
