I have been prescribed 0.5 mg of clonazepam to take as needed for anxiety. I average about 1 pill a week and today was the day. When would it be safe to have a drink? Not tonight for sure, but my husband and I are both on vacation this week, so I didn't know how many days I would have to wait as I know it has a long half life.
Alcohol after clonazepam 0.5mg?

Hi, renee!
How have you been doing?
The half life of clonazepam is typically about 30-40 hours so after some 35 hours 50% of your last dose would still be in your system. After another 35 hours 25% would remain, etc.
It's too early in the morning for me to try to do math but I think you should count on at least 4-5 days although once you're down in the very low percentages a small amount of alcohol might not interact. Some people may have not had a problem with drinking sooner but just be very careful, okay?
