Does darvocet do the same thing as Norco?
Darvocet has one opioid plus acetaminophen, and norco is hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Mac is right, darvocet,( brand name of med you mentioned) was pulled off the US market about 2 years ago for causing heart issues, some of them fatal, especially in elderly patients. Bothe meds contain and opioid or opiate and acetaminophen, generally speaking, most people do NOT find darvocet to be as good a pain reliever as Norco. The name of the opiate in darvocet is propoxyphene, in norco, it is hydrocodone. Patti.
Someone will be along shortly to answer your question, I just want to tell you do NOT take darvocet, it has been removed from the American market because it causes serious heart problems.
