Both ability and lamictal made/ make me so tired. I’m not sure why but most medication makes me tired. I have to take everything at night because it makes me sleepy and zombie like. I am in a haze the whole day.
I'm on lamictal and abilify in the morning and lamictal and geodon at night.
Hi, mommy! This happens very rarely as Abilify is generally very stimulating for many people... who complain of insomnia, restlessness and nervousness in the first few weeks of treatment. It's possible that this effect will pass if you've just started therapy, but you should consult with your prescribing physician as most other antipsychotics are considered more sedating.
Best regards and good luck with this!
So it'll pass? Like in a month or so of taking it during the day it won't make me tired anymore?
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
Yes, the side effects should pass fairly quickly. How long have you been taking Abilify and at what dosage? How about the lamotrigine? The combination of the two medications can cause drowsiness.
Let your doctor know... perhaps a temporary dosage adjustment would help.
The abilify is only 5 mg and the lamotrigine is 100 mg cut in half.
Abilify + Lamotrigine also makes me tired - in fact, my psychiatrist recommends that I take it before bed for this very reason. I think a great med is Latuda. I believe it is considered weight-neutral, but I was one of the people that gained weight on it, so I couldn't stay on it, but it was an incredible medication for me, both emotionally and for my overall well-being.
My psychiatrist told me because my peak is in the afternoon that it's not helping me to take it at night.
