Hello,i was on venlafaxine for 3 years, when i know that im pregnant for a month i stopped suddenly because venlafaxine may increase the risk of having a unhealthy baby,i suffer from his withdrawals for about 3 weeks but dont give up you can handle it
I found out I was expecting at the end of January and was taking 150mgXL per day my GP weaned me by goin to half dose for 2 weeks then 1 75mgXL every other day for 2 weeks I am now currently 13 wks pregnant and I do struggle now and again but I was prescribed stemitel which is used for vomiting and nausea in morning sickness but I have found that it has stopped almost all of the withdrawal symptoms I was having maybe this is something you could discuss with your gp
hey, how are you doing? I just wanted to say that I have taken Effexor XR through all 3 if my pregnancies, I couldn't function without it. Your stress/anxiety/depression could be worse for the baby too. Nothing is definite with these things. My kids are happy and healthy and I believe the Effexor is what helped me be a better mom.
What mg were you on when you were pregnant hun ?
Thnx, I wld rather tough it out than put my baby at risk, bt I am always in contact with my GP and Psychiatrist, so they are at hand if need be.
Do not stop it like that, see your dr. You have got to be weaned off of it. Withdrawal would be more harmful to the baby then the drug.
You may have withdrawal symptoms for as much as a month, but they will gradually get better as time passes. Unfortunately, you'll need to tough it out so to prevent any problems for your baby. If your depression/anxiety returns and is unbearable, please let the doctor know. There are other meds if the benefits outweigh the risks.
