It is ok to have the odd glass of wine while taking Meloxicam.
However, keep in mind that the chance of developing a stomach ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding increases with drinking alcohol.
I can't give a direct answer as I take 6 mg of lexotan. What I would like to know
is can I have wine while taking this medication
Meloxicam states that daily use of alcohol will give you a greater risk for bleeding in stomach & intestines. I would NOT take a chance like that just to have two glasses of wine. If you need the wine, then talk to your Doctor about something else for your bones.
As stated you are fine. The only issue with any NSAID (which Meloxicam is one) and drinking is that it increases your chance of stomach bleeding. This is a risk that all NSAIDS and alcohol carry. Other NSAIDS include Advil and Aleve. I am also on Meloxicam, myself. Be sure to eat to avoid stomach upset. Best of luck to you.
