Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): So I've been reading other reviews for this, and I really think that people should wait until after the first month to decide if this is a horrible birth control because OF COURSE we're going to have the bad side effects the first few weeks! Our bodies are adapting to a new drug so just be patient! The first three weeks I had nausea, mild mood swings, loss of appetite, and EXTREMELY sore and swollen breasts. Since then I've been side effect free. I've been on it for three months now and I have to say it's amazing! I take it for PCOS and because of my PCOS I would be having periods every 6 months and they would be KILLER! I would literally be in bed for days, but with this birth control I have mild short periods. It's fantastic. I definitely recommend it.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I got on this pill to stop from getting ovarian cysts; while I don't think it completely solved this problem, I found this pill very helpful overall. I had very few side effects: no spotting, no nausea, no loss of hair, but I do still get cramping before my period. It shortened my period to about 5 days and it always comes when expected. I have tried two other types of pills, one being Yaz, and I came back to Ortho-Tricyclen Lo because of the fewer side effects. Its a great pill and I haven't had any problems with it. I've been on it for about 2 years.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I had incredibly painful cramps and was told by both my ob/gyn and general doctor birth control could really help me, so I tried Ortho. My skin stayed just about the same (got some tiny under the skin bumps that didn't bother me) and I was a little tired. My first period on it was extremely heavy and painful, but the next one was lighter and easier to deal with. But I noticed about a month in, I sprouted hair all over my cheeks (which I've NEVER had before). My hormones were basically normal before, but this pill made them go completely haywire (hence the hair growth). But apparently this is a rare side effect. This pill seems to be one of the better ones for other people, but was not right for me. I will keep looking for my perfect birth control.

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): In May of 2011, I wound up in the ER because I couldn't stand or walk. I was in the middle of our local mall and started experiencing HORRIBLE pain in the pelvic region as well as sever hot and cold flashes. I was misdiagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and was given several medications, including prescription Hydrocodone. None of them touched the pain. Eventually, doctors realized that I was having cysts on both ovaries at the same time. They put me on Sprintec which is affordable and I have had no pain! It was hard for me to adjust to. Soreness in breasts and nausea, but my body has adapted to it and I have been on it for four months now and I love it.

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I have been on Sprintec for 6 months now. I also have PCOS. And let me tell you, I would usually get these painful periods and would bleed extremely heavy. But Sprintec has helped out a lot. The only thing that's affecting me now is the yeast infections. Hopefully this symptom doesn't last long.

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I had been experiencing ovarian cysts for at least a year, but I didn't know that was the cause until about 5 months ago. I have been on Mononessa for three months now and I haven't had any cyst symptoms, also I am instructed by my doctor to only take three of the reminder pills before I start a new pack instead of all seven. My periods tend to be lighter and my face is clearer than it used to be. I have been on birth control for about seven years now and so far I am liking this one a lot. I haven't really had any of the side effects, no spotting, some breast tenderness but I have always had that. My appetite does fluntuate, I'm not sure if that is due to the pills or not, I am a college student so it tends to happen a lot.

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I started taking this pill at the start of this month, I'm now on week 4 and completely miserable. I noticed almost straight away that my moods, which aren't that great to begin with, but bearable, have worsened. I can't stand to be around myself because of the mood I'm in all the time. This started about 2 days after I started the pill and has only gotten worse as the month carried on. Now that I'm on the placebo week my period which is normally light/medium to medium flow is so incredibly heavy. My doctor prescribed me this for my PCOS to help regulate my periods till my husband gets over and we can start trying for a baby, but I think I'd much rather just deal with my periods being out of whack than this.

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): Sprintec overall had a positive effect on my body, regular periods, bigger breasts, no weight gain, increase in sex drive, and helped quite a bit with acne. Four months into it I caught a yeast infection which is the only downfall I've noticed.

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I initially had Mononessa prescribed for PCOS but switched after 3 months to Sprintec. Of course I experienced the usual side effects with both i.e. nausea, mood swings, hot flashes, breast tenderness and headaches but only for the first week or two. However with Sprintec I am now experiencing depression, my skin on face and chest area above breast is not as smooth as it used to be and worst of all a yeast infection, which I have never suffered from before (awful itching but Monistat 7 is helping a lot). I'm still quite new to Sprintec and hope all this goes away.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I took Ortho Tri- Cyclen for symptoms of ovarian cysts. These symptoms included spotting and/or bleeding when it wasn't time for my period and periods every 3 weeks (21 days), instead of every 28 or so. So basically, some sort of bleeding was going on almost constantly! After a period of about 4-5 months, my symptoms became less severe, the spotting stopped and my periods became less frequent. However, I experienced severe cramping and longer and heavier periods while I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen. So in some ways it helped the symptoms I had experienced before taking it, but it also created some new symptoms in the year that I took it.

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): About half way through pack 3 and no real complaints. The first month on Sprintec was a living hell; UTI, mood swings, no appetite, nausea, headaches etc. Started pack 2 and have been fine ever since. My sex drive is a little hit or miss anymore but my SO doesn't really mind.

Ortho Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I have been taking this since March 23, 2011 and I started my period back on April 6, 2011 after one year without one because of my PCOS. I have been on my period for 9 days now and I am not sure how much longer I am going to be on it.

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I have been on Tri-Sprintec for 8 years now (I'm 24 years old) to help regulate my irregular hormone levels due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I have not had any side effects of the pill...well, maybe some mood swings, but nothing that wouldn't be caused by that time of the month already! I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I have been on this particular birth control (approximately 50 pounds), but that is the only real issue. I have been regular for the past 8 years, down to the exact day and almost time of the day so there are no surprises. Everyone's body reacts differently to medications, I'm pleased that this birth control did the job for me!

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I have tried this pill for a month now. My symptoms include headaches, blurry vision, sleeplessness and spotting for the entire month! Definitely going to try something else to keep the cysts under control, probably Depo shot. I was on the shot for a few years a while ago and had no symptoms with no periods at all, can do without those!
