Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I began taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo when I was 13, I am now 22. I was not sexually active at the time, but my periods were extremely irregular. This specific oral contraceptive helped to regulate my period and it has been perfect for the past 9 years. When reading these reviews, ladies must keep in mind that everyone is different. Genetics plays a huge role in whether you get/ have bad acne, cramping, low sex drive, etc. It may not be because of the pill, necessarily. In my 9 year experience with this particular product, I have never had a scare when I took the pill as directed. You will have a few of those symptoms, its just life.
Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: My periods are shorter and I'm regular. My face is clear and I haven't suffered from any weight gain, although I do have some PMS mood swings sometimes but I've been on this pill for almost two years and its definitely helped this 22yr old.
Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Acne: I'm 22yrs old and have been dealing with acne since about 13yrs old. I've been on Tri-Sprintec for almost two years now and what a difference. It has to be the best birth control I've ever been on. No gaining weight, mood changes, and my face stays clear even when it is that time of the month. Life changing.
Tri-Previfem (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I use it as a birth control, but it has helped a lot with my acne. No more oily face.
Also how effective is this in regards to birth control?
So far.. no problems, no weight gain. It was difficult getting this approved by my insurance BCBS.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I love this birth control. I've been on it for almost five months. I've been on two other pills before. They made me have severe mood swings and horrible depression, so my doctor put me on this one. I love it. My breasts have gotten bigger as well- which is a HUGE plus for me. Also, the only thing I use is these pills- no condoms or anything else, and I have a very active sex life, and I haven't gotten pregnant, so it is doing a great job. It has given me a higher sex drive too. I have two problems with it, but the pros outweigh the negatives. Firstly, I get nausea when I start a new pack. It usually lasts 3-4 days. It also gives me heavy periods. Though, they only last 3-4 days.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I started Sprintec in September so I'm going on my 3rd month. I have mixed feelings about it. I don't receive bad cramps anymore and my acne doesn't come around when my period is here. I don't like that I get depressed or sad and my last period lasted 17 days and my doctor told me to stop for some days then start again and she told me to not take the placebos. Overall I'd recommend, I'm 16 which means I might be a different candidate.
Review by period that would not stop (taken for less than 1 month):
Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: My period would come and a week later it would happen again for two weeks. I have been on Mononessa for a week and my period is finally under control after years of misery.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I am 17 and I've been on this pill for about 10 days now and LOVE IT. Weighing on the smaller side with very miniscule breasts, this pill has helped me gain extra weight and has already helped my breasts grow. I was only a tad nauseous on the first day but I found my mood was overall happier and I have a great amount of energy. I am very happy with the results of this pill and how well it has worked for me. I was worried at first but once I had some food and got through the night, I realized that oral birth control is really a gift. If you were like me and worried sick over this pill then just look at all of the benefits that tiny pill can offer you and the security you gain. Thumbs up all the way.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I've been on this pill for about 3 months. The only complaint I have about Sprintec is that it makes my breasts very tender and sore, usually three weeks out of the month. It hurts a lot, but it's not painful to the point where I have to stop everything. They have gotten larger, but I assume it's from the swelling. Other than that, it's a pretty great pill.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been using this birth control for over a year, and it has proven to be perfect. The first 3 weeks I was taking it, I had pretty bad mood swings, but this is expected, and they quit happening around the time I started my second cycle of pills. I had irregular periods and bar cramping; both of those problems were fixed once again by the second month of pills. My flow was much lighter for a shorter amount of days (and you still have a period every month, which allows your body to still clean itself out). As a contraceptive, it is my only method of birth control and I'm not pregnant yet, so it's doing its job there. Never had acne but I break out less often. Basically this is a great pill.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: Amazing birth control. Helped me lose close to 20 pounds after switching from another birth control. I'm not moody, depressed, my skin looks amazing. It doesn't cause water retention or strange strong cravings. Highly recommend it.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: It made me bloated, very moody, depressed, and gained 17 pounds and kept on gaining until switched to a different pill. It did its job, prevents pregnancy but definitely makes you gain a lot of weight. Got off the pill lost the 15 pounds within 2 weeks...
Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on this contraceptive for about 15 months. I haven't experienced weight gain, but a weight loss of 3 pants sizes. Altough that's great and everything, I've also been sick to my stomach at least once a week, and my period didn't stop being extremely heavy. It also jumps around a lot more, and for a few months I didn't have one. (Wasn't pregnant, went to doctor and had to get put on medication to restart period) but all in all I think it's decent.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have taken this pill for 8 years. I am 23, 5'1 110lbs. Have never experienced weight gain, and never had a pregnancy scare. I have always had clear skin and it stayed that way throughout the pill. I missed a couple pills last month and had spotting for a couple weeks. But I swear by this pill! Although, once in a while it did cause slight nausea and usually always low sex drive, as most others have agreed. Other than that I think it's a great form of medication.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: My doctor put me on Sprintec after trying several other pills for birth control and my horrible cramps. The first month I was dizzy and my skin was really oily, but taking it before bed and washing my face more often helped. After the 2nd month the dizziness completely disappeared and my skin looks great. My cramps used to be unbearable and kept me home from work each month, now I can manage them with a heating pad and a few Advil (instead of taking up to 10 a day). My breasts are larger but I haven't noticed a weight gain and it has not affected my sex drive. Everyone is different but if you are trying this and experiencing side effects I suggest trying to stick it out at least for the first month. But when in doubt, ask your doctor!
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I've been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo since February with a 3 month break in the summer. I actually experienced very low appetite, when I'm at the end of my sugar pills I'm starving put the rest of the month I never feel hungry so I think the pill has helped me lose weight. As for Acne no real difference, I'm still struggling with acne but over the last year being on or off the pill hasn't made a difference. I haven't ever been nauseous or sick at all, but I do take it at 7pm. The biggest side-effect I've noticed is low, low sex drive. Absolutely no interest in it at all. And very low energy. I plan on going off the pill to see if it's causing this side effect.
Review by notsomisssunshine (taken for 6 months to 1 year):
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I've been on this for about 6 months and the first few months were great. I felt no difference after switching from a different pill. The last few months on the other hand have been terrible! I've been so moody (cry at the drop of a hat, always mad and irritated) and I've been having terrible cravings. I have also experienced in between periods spotting and general discomfort in my body.
Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: Good for preventing pregnancy and clearing up Skin. But it does make some women gain water weight. I gained 20 lbs on it and rapidly lost it in a month when I switched to another brand. So make sure you notice how it affects your body while on it. To me the weight gain was not worth it.
Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on Sprintec 28 For about 3 months now and love it! It was prescribed by my doctor to ease my menstrual cramps and it did that and so much more. I had little acne here and there now my skin is flawless. I have almost no cramps during my period which is a huge from before because I used to sit in pain for hours. My breasts are larger and The pills are cheap! Also no pregnancy so overall 10/10! The only con I can Think of is slight nausea after Taking The pill but it doesn't last very long and I Take my pill at bedtime so I'm sleep when The nausea occurs anyway. Great pill.
Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I've been on this pill for over three months and Tri-Spintec has good and bad aspects. The good thing is its contraceptive. The not so good things are: my period lasts about ten days; I have really bad mood swings before; it causes nausea and lastly my acne has gotten worse. I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen since I was nineteen and it was absolutely wonderful.
Tri-Previfem (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Acne: So I went on this pill for my acne and irregular bleeding. At first, it made my skin break out somewhat more and I started to lose hope. I've had a rough time on the pill because I forget to take it daily but it's getting better. But after being on it for two months, my skin is totally clear. I have one zit and it's not big at all. I have so much more confidence now and I'm so happy that I stayed on it. If you are hunting about going on the pill for acne I highly recommend this brand. You will have side effects at first but trust me, it's definitely all worth it.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I took Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for a year and gained 15 lbs on my 5'1 normally 105 frame. I am 19 and run 50-70 miles a week for track and cross country. I knew there was something wrong, as before I would lose up to 10 lbs during the season. I told my doctor I thought the weight gain was due to the pills, but she insisted it wasn't. As soon as I got off of OTCL, (became single and didn't need it) I lost those 15 lbs in 3 weeks and shocked my doctor. The pill definitely can, and was, the reason for weight gain. At least I never became pregnant. I have switched to Apri since and I hope I don't go through the same again, anyone have any stories about their experiences with Apri?
Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on this pill for about a year now and I just cannot deal with it anymore! I used to be so happy but lately I'm a different person, someone who is not nice. At first I thought just I hadn't gotten used to it yet but as more time has went on I am hateful, severely depressed, nauseated, very tired, and constantly just an unhappy person. It has effected my relationships with everyone and the next chance I get I'm switching to something else. I'm not saying it will do this to everyone but I know it has been awful for me. One thing it had done is what it was supposed to do, it kept me from getting pregnant.
